Official Game Pieces!

 Hello Again! 

So, here are all my game board pieces and they're super awesome :) I just need to edit Bagshot Row (Cause you can see the misspelt line underneath) and Go to St. Mungo's which I've done already.  

But those are pretty much all the game pieces :) And they're all the exact same size - 275 pixels by 275

Azkaban - no....HOSPITAL!

+Vivian Luu  brought up a good point! I've officially made my "jail" St. Mungo's rather than Azkaban. Cause, well, jail is kind of boring. 

Anyways, so now the picture for St. Mungo's is the inside of the hospital and the picture for "Go to St. Mungo's" is a picture of the arrogant fool...Gilderoy Lockhart...

I suppose I should limit to 1-2 characters per fandom so it's possible to fit at least one of each. But that's hard...

Hmm, anyways, I'm going to have to read about JLayeredPanes soon to find out how to make the pawn move from one box to another...

So here are the tiles so far! :D I'm just missing the colours on the background representing the properties. At least it's ... well not really done done but :D

Yes, I know, this blog is meant for Computer Science, but today marks the 15th Anniversary of The Wizarding War in Harry Potter. We lost Nymphadora Tonks, Remus Lupin, Fred Weasley, Sirius Black (we may not have lost him on the date, but we lost him for the cause), Albus Percival Wulfric Dumbledore, and many others. 

Most importantly, U No Poo is dead. 

RIP Tonks, Lupin, Fred, Sirius, Albus and all the others that died in the War.

Update on Gameboard

So...I've created a few of the pictures and things for the game board. Here's an example of one: 

So basically, all the pictures are going to look similar to this, but the fill will be different for each colour. Then I will has to find out how to make layered panes for one to show up on top of the other. But yeah, good start so far :)

Well...hmm. I can't use a gridLayout to show the things. .

 Ryk said that I'd have to find another way to display them to the screen.

 Might have to do a button and so when the person lands on it, the centre shows information about the property

All the properties have to contain a JPEG or  PNG containing the colour, the icon, the price (in galleons), and name of property. 

I'm not a hundred percent sure exactly how to lay out the board, but at least I have a start for now. 

At least my game board is going to be as colourful as here :D

It's not working! The words aren't lining up at all! This is going to be a little bit of a problem...O_O

Layout of Gameboard

Just realized...

For all the properties, I just realized that I'm going to need pictures for all those properties and I'm going to have to insert them into the gameboard manually. So I was thinking instead of having one row on the N, S, E, and W of GridLayouts, it should have 2 rows - one for the picture. And the other for the price of the property and the name of the property along with the colour. 

Although one thing I can do is add the price to the picture manually. And to make the colour of the text representative of the colour that is on the card and on the property. Hmm, sounds cool. I think. 

I hope it works though. I'm not quite sure how to display the fact that one's piece is on the place though. Like it's going to have to be a colour that stands out on every other square but there's no similar colour. And so it's a bit hard. Unless I make each small little panel has a square in which represents the character cause I wanted to make the little characters characters in the series rather than things like TVs or roller skates. 

I was thinking:
